CCF Ayurvedic Tea: My Experience
Updated: Jun 12
I have a history of trauma and stress based stagnation in my body. Couple this with the impact of a rigorous flight schedule and lack of consistent sleep, my body feels a lot of internalized pressure!
Recently I decided to try a recipe for an ayurvedic tea that claims to help with digestive discomfort, and bloating, and to generally soothe my belly where I tend to hold most of my tension.
What is CCF:
Cumin: warms and sparks digestive fire without overheating, relaxes digestive muscled that help to trap gas
Coriander: cools and sooths the gut, aids to alleviate inflammation, eases the tension of spasms that disrupt smooth digestion
Fennel: reduces bloating, increases mental and gut relaxation, and soothes the nervous system.
How to Make It:
Equal parts cumin, coriander, and fennel
1/2 - 2 teaspoons per 1.5 cups of water
Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5 mins
Strain, add honey, and enjoy!
Or you can ass to a tea sock or diffuser and steep for 10 mins. Honestly, I just eyed my own measurements straight into the pot, and didn't even strain the first couple of times. The seeds were actually kind of tasty. I also like a slightly stronger brew.
Taste: Earthy, Sweet, Pungent, Warm, Soothing, Aromatic.
So delicious!
Ayurvedic Energetics: (From The Ayurvedic Institute)
Rasa (Taste): Pungent, Bitter, Sweet
Virya (Action): Cooling
Vipaka (Post-digestive effect): Pungent
Doshas (Constitutions): Balancing for all doshas, especially beneficial for Pitta
My Results:
Other than just feeling amazing on my stomach, I definitely felt some released pressure and movement within the first hour of taking it. It is a delightful tea to drink. I have had it hot and cold. I definitely recommend drinking it warmed. Just felt better.
The pictures were taken within an hour of one another: You ca see my posture change and the deep core muscles engage with minimum effort in the second photo. I believe this is due to the decrease in internal pressure that I've lived with for so long. Both pictures were taken with an effort to generate the same authenticity of effort and felt sense of balance in my body. I was not trying to correct.

Before and After
I took it on the plane with me, and noticed that it was not as effective, but I was also not as bloated as I usually am after a flight. Next time I will try to keep it warmed and report back.

Give it a try!!
